Groups - general information

In most cases, permissions are assigned to groups. Subsequently, the first step in platform administration is to create groups. Then, you provide the groups with access and write permissions. Afterwards, users will be able to create facts and folders on the platform.

The following groups are automatically created on your platform by the system (system groups):

Universe: all users (logged in) and guests (not logged in)
(As you are not able to assign specific users to this group, you will not see it in the list of groups in the p-admin interface. However, users see the group "universe" when it comes to assigning permissions for facts.)
Platform Main Group: All users who register on a platform will be automatically added to the "Platform Main Group". The system automatically adds the platform title to the group name (e.g. "XY main group"). The p-admin can change the name of the "Platform Main Group" according to his/her wishes.

The following system groups are used on few platforms:

guests:
guests are readers who are not logged in
users:
all users who are registered on any FCS-platform
